Photographer Behind Donald Trump Jr.’s Skittle Tweet Was a Refugee
A photographer who says he took the Skittles photo used by Donald Trump Jr.in a tweet on the “Syrian refugee problem”, tells ABC News that he is himself a refugee.

“Skittles are candy. Refugees are people”, said Wrigley in an official statement on September 20, regarding Donald Trump Jr.
And David Kittos, who photographed that bowl of Skittles, told the BBC he found the tweet offensive.
On his Flickr account, Mr Kittos wrote: “Please do not use my images for any objective, commercial or otherwise (this includes linking from your blog or website), unless you have my written permission”.
For the bulk of his campaign, Trump had proposed an outright ban on Muslim immigrants and Syrian refugees. “I don’t support [Trump’s] politics and I would never take his money to use it”, Kittos told the BBC. Growing up, I didn’t know this. This is pure greed from them.
“And yes, for the record, I would eat all of them”, the host quipped. They could have just bought a cheap image from a micro stock library. “Would you take a handful?” it reads.
Wringley, the company that owns Skittles spoke out against the message by saying “Skittles are candy. It’s an inappropriate analogy”, Vice President of Corporate Affairs Denise Young said in a statement. Obvious as it may be, we also believe that this tweet says it all – it is another inappropriate analogy and a misleading statement contradictory to one of America’s most cherished values, as well as a dog whistle for broader Islamophobia.
On Tuesday, The Washington Post reported that the Trump Foundation gave out $258,000 to settle two legal disputes against Donald Trump’s for-profit businesses, as well as two other instances that also appear to be prohibited “self-dealing” by a foundation.
In the end, Noah comes to the realization that Trump Jr.’s Skittles comparison actually works as a reverse comparison for Trump’s entire campaign.
Speaking with MSNBC, Trump’s running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, cited FBI Director James Comey’s claim that it’s not always easy to run thorough background checks on every refugee, though Comey has noted that federal agencies have gotten far better at vetting refugees.

Citing a Cato Institute report that showed how an American’s chance of being killed by a terrorist refugee is “1 in 3.64 billion a year”, Colbert ridiculed Trump’s faulty arithmetic.
