BVB Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has ruled out the possibility of departing his club amidst rumours of an impending January bid from Arsenal.
In an interview with talkSPORT though, Deeney has refuted those claims in this transfer window stating that “we (Ighalo) have got a project to finish together…”
“He is a decent player, has got a very good football brain, never moans, and gets on with it. When you go and play for this Arsenal team, you need to have a good football brain and when I watch him play, that is what he has”.
Ighalo, too, has drawn reported interests from bigger clubs but Deeney insisted the Nigerian was staying put at Vicarage Road till the end of the season.
The Nigeria worldwide has been in sparkling form during his debut Premier League season, scoring 14 in 20 appearances.
Arsenal wanted the striker to add more competitiveness to their forward line, alongside Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott, whilst the punters in the bar were unanimous in their agreement that Arsenal would be guaranteed the Premier League title if they landed the former St Etienne forward.
