She has been out of the spotlight for years but now Tulisa Contostavlos is back with her new single and has just given one of her most honest interviews ever on Good Morning Britain.

The former N-Dubz singer and X-Factor judge has been hit by a series of scandals, including an assault charge in 2013 and a drunk driving incident previous year.

The N-Dubz star was also quizzed on whether she regretted making a sex tape that was leaked by ex-boyfriend DJ MC Ultra.

While on the show they got talking about the “rocky” time in her life, which Tulisa then refers to as her “blackout period”.

Tulisa explained: “Yes I’ve made a mistake, I openly admit that, I messed up and I’ve paid the price”.

Tulisa Contostavlos has been praised for keeping her cool during a tense interview on Good Morning Britain. “It’s hard because it’s difficult to forget so when people think of Tulisa, all of those things come to mind”.

On drink driving, she confessed to feeling guilty.

She added: “Everyone is a product of their own environment, and that, I think, has actually been the key lesson for me”. “But look, it was part of my life and it’s made me who I am today”.

Morgan also asked the singer about the assault charges that were brought against her in 2015.

“It does frustrate me a little bit, because I do understand from an outside point of view, someone looking in must go, ‘Why did you try to do that in the first place? Are you unhappy with yourself, have you got issues?”

Commenting on the drugs trial which nearly saw her break down emotionally, Tulisa said:”I didn’t beat myself up over that because i knew I was innocent all along – and that was proved. But luckily it was all temporary so it dissolved”.

Viewers of the show had a mixed reaction to the interview, whilst some praised the singer, others believed she doesn’t need surgery to look handsome. “Honestly it’s just me and her at the moment. The person I am on the inside is very separate”.
