During Nintendo’s 3DS centric Direct presentation yesterday, the company announced that a Pikmin game, tentatively titled Pikmin would be coming to the 3DS sometime in 2017. It joins Mario Sports Superstars, which looks like a insane attempt to capitalise on a bunch of Mario Sports games by collecting them and shoving them onto the 3DS. Dragon Quest 7 is set for release on September 16th.

3DS entry will be side-scrolling. “Axiom Verge is part of Nintendo’s “[commitment] to working with awesome independent developers”, as stated by JC Rodrigo, Product Marketing Manager at Nintendo.
Announced during today’s Nintendo Direct, this winter you’ll be able to play Super Mario Maker on the go when it is released for the Nintendo 3DS.

Mario has starred in many sports games over the years, but this time Nintendo is lumping them all together with Mario Sports Superstars, the 3DS card that includes new versions of Mario Tennis, Mario Baseball, Mario Golf and Mario Soccer….and NEW Mario Horse Racing.
For those that don’t know, Super Mario Maker is essentially the old 8-bit and 16-bit version of Mario – that’s the NES Super Mario and Super Mario World – with a level creation tool.
Nintendo did promise they would look into it and a year ago we heard rumors that Nintendo’s next console could be region-free. The publisher has revealed the first handheld entry in the Pikmin series, which is now scheduled to launch exclusively on the 3DS in 2017.
