Billed by the band’s official website as a “comprehensive” collection that includes “much unreleased material” on top of a complete collection of everything already in the public domain, The Early Years 1965-1972 will be available from November 11th, at a price of $700. It promises to be a veritable treasure for Floyd fans, as it contains material such as the oft-bootlegged Syd Barrett-era songs “Vegetable Man” and “Scream Thy Last Scream”. The video element of the release includes rare concert footage and feature films.

The collection follows the Floyd story through the years prior to the release of the 45-million selling The Dark Side Of The Moon album. It covers Barrett’s stint in the group, including demos, singles, the aforementioned Saucerful rarities and BBC sessions. The 1967 song was written by founding member Syd Barrett, who left the band soon afterward as he struggled with mental illness. The video content includes a promo spot for “Point Me at the Sky” and global TV performances.
