He and Middleton rang in the new year on the island, and back in August the Middleton family (sans the Duchess of Cambridge) were guests of the Matthews.
Daily Mail royals reporter Richard Kay broke the news on Tuesday that Matthews, 40, had “popped the question” to the younger Middleton sister after one year of dating. “They like James and they are sure he will make Pippa very happy”, a family friend said.

Middleton accessorized her summery look with a pair of woven tan wedges, a matching tan satchel, and classic brown sunglasses. “James is a traditionalist and very much wanted to do things properly”.
