Pirates’ Trevor Williams gives dad game ball after winning Major League Baseball debut
Rookie pitcher Trevor Williams made his major league debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates Wednesday against Saint Louis and wound up as the winning pitcher in a 4-3 decision. Right after the game, he kissed his wife and young child, then gave the game ball to his father. It was Williams’ dad — and he couldn’t contain his proud emotions as a father. Congratulations Williams family, you did it!

Their back-slapping hug was surely one for the record books.
Moments later, Trevor handed the game ball to his dad and the men embraced. “He’s been with me since the very beginning”. Williams pitched strong, going 3 innings while allowing an unearned run on 3 hits while striking out a trio, keying the Bucs’ victory in the team they’re chasing for an outside shot at the National League wild card. Here’s hoping the Williams family will be able to share many more golden moments such as this. “I’m just glad I could help”, he said.
Williams also took to Twitter to express his gratitude and post an adorable picture of his wife and baby.
