Pitino Explains Why He Skipped Postgame Press Conference

Jamal Murray’s ball-handling woes almost cost Kentucky the win. Pitino continued, “The 1-8 comment was fine”. The other transfer grad student, Lewis (from Cleveland State) also had a good game finishing with 15 points (2-3 beyond the arc).

Donald Trump calls out NH newspaper after criticism
Trump has suggested as much before. “You have a very dishonest newspaper, it’s also a failing newspaper”, Trump told a New… Christie clawed back from poll numbers so low he shared one debate stage with unpopular “undercard” candidates.

He was quick to point out after the game that it was the play as a team that got the win, not his individual play – an additional quality that great tournament teams have.

Afghan army pinned down in Helmand
Sharif’s visit to Kabul , however it is expected talks will be held on the Afghan peace process with the Taliban group. No further details have been given regarding the agenda of Gen.

However, the star of the game was none other than Tyler Ulis. Lee scored 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting in the second half and gave the Cardinals their high point of the second half with a 3-pointer at the 5:34 mark to pull within one point. The Cats zipped to a 13-4 lead inside the first six minutes, a spurt helped by Louisville missing nine of its first 11 shots. Coming into the Louisville game, that is. Skal continues to struggle and I’m beginning to believe that Skal’s problems lie more on the mental side than the physical side.

Big Blue fans had reason for pre-game concern.

“I can get a lot better”, Valentine said earlier this month. He isn’t Anthony Davis or Nerlens Noel or Willie Cauley-Stein. Both are clearly capable of getting there.

Regardless how the men’s game comes out this Saturday, the Cards are the last team in Kentucky to win a national championship. Kentucky (11-2) jumped out to a 16 point lead in the second half after ending the first half on a 14-2 run and leading 44-36 at halftime.

Now to the part that everyone is talking about.

Rick Pitino was definitely feeling the frustration and he appears to unfortunately have shown that after the game.

Pitino is one of the few Division I college coaches in America – and maybe the only one – who still makes all of his players available to the media by opening the locker room, access that any writer or broadcaster will tell you is invaluable.

But his behavior recently has been inexcusable and a poor example of sportsmanship and personal responsibility, especially for a 63-year-old Hall of Fame coach. What made it even worse was the COMPLETELY BOGUS explanation Pitino offered hours later.

Though numerous young Cardinals may not fully grasp the magnitude of the rivalry, their fans have certainly reminded them of what beating Kentucky means to them.

Then throw in guys like Brogdon, who has earned the nickname “Uncle Malcolm” from Virginia teammates.

Pitino wrote on his blog Monday that he skipped the postgame press conference Saturday after his team lost a thriller to in-state rival United Kingdom because “it’s an extremely emotional and hard experience for me to coach in Rupp Arena”. That’s why you have a $6 million contract. The head coach of the program at that time immediately left the University following that season. If the best version of him roams the hardwood on Saturday, Louisville will have its hands full.

On top of that, his explanation for why he avoided the press after the game was completely bogus as well.

Pitino, too, said the dreaded bird was not involved.

“You’d always rather have experienced leadership than not, of course”, Oklahoma coach Lon Kruger said. So before we write the next article or blog, take a deep look at the past and what has come of it. But also take a deep look at the future, and let that play itself out.
