Pittsburgh Steelers: Playing See-Saw With Seattle Seahawks

Wilson’s fifth touchdown pass of the day, an 80-yarder to Doug Baldwin, finished off Roethlisberger and the Steelers with 2:01 remaining as the Seahawks outlasted Pittsburgh 39-30.

But the rest of the game proved to be the Wilson and Baldwin show as they produced touchdowns of 30 and 80 yards to see the Seahawks (6-5) home and improve their chances of a wildcard berth at least.

Defensive Line- Cam Heyward had one of the Steelers two sacks, blocked an extra point and deflected a pass, but there wasn’t much pressure on Russell Wilson overall and the Seahawks rushed for 100 yards on 27 carries.

Roethlisberger throwing for 456 yards wasn’t enough for Pittsburgh on a day Russell Wilson managed to overshadow everyone.

A gamble by Mike Tomlin to start the second quarter blew up in the Steelers’ faces and turned the lead around early in the period.

“Right when we were about to go on the field the doc started checking him out”, Jones said “I don’t know what they were saying but for brain stuff you better be more safe than sorry”. It was a game the Hawks needed to win and they did making a statement that they are still setting their sights on a post-season appearance, a sight that is still within reach with this win over the Steelers.

Colts 25, Buccaneers 12: INDIANAPOLIS – Matt Hasselbeck passed for 315 yards and two touchdowns and Adam Vinatieri made four field goals in the Colts’ third straight win.

Fourth quarter: Jimmy Graham takes an awkward spill and is carted off the field.

Pittsburgh receiver Markus Wheaton had nine receptions for 201 yards and a touchdown on an afternoon when the Seahawks used Pro Bowl cornerback Richard Sherman to shadow leading receiver Antonio Brown.

“That was the first time I did that since college”, Baldwin said of the stiff arms. “That’s my biggest weakness”. The injury will present more playing time for Luke Willson, Seattle’s primary tight end all of last season.

“Sometimes it bounces your way”, Sherman said, “sometimes it doesn’t”.

ATLANTA – Adrian Peterson ran for 158 yards and a pair of touchdowns, Matt Ryan threw two more interceptions for the Vikings.

Roethlisberger reported concussion symptoms to his team’s trainers late in Sunday’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks, and was replaced by Landry Jones on the Steelers’ final drive.

Rawls averaged 5.1 yards per carry in the first half, but Pittsburgh’s run defense was far better in the second half. Pittsburgh’s defense has given up yards by the chunk this year but has survived thanks to an ability to make the splash plays when they mattered.

Tyler Lockett took the 2nd half kickoff back to the 48 yard line but Seattle couldn’t take advantage of the field position and went 3-and-out.

Indy took the lead for good on Hasselbeck’s 9-yard TD pass to T.Y. Hilton midway through the third quarter.

That could have been the reason for why the Steelers didn’t attempt to go for it on fourth down in the red zone with three minutes remaining.

The decision backfired when on third-and-10 on the next possession Wilson hit Baldwin on a crossing route. So seeing the offense step up and win the game was a welcome sight for the Seahawks, especially now that a playoff spot is back within their grasp.

The Seahawks got lucky with a couple bad penalty calls and non-calls, but it was 4 interceptions from Pittsburgh that was the biggest difference maker in the game that found Seattle victorious 39-30. It was a five-point game.

Despite over 450 passing yards from quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, the Pittsburgh Steelers lost a back-and-forth battle with the Seattle Seahawks Sunday. “We’ve just got to get back and watch it and come back with a lot of focus”. Meanwhile, the Steelers came in with a 6-4 record. He did not return…. The way he fought for balls was a great sight to see coming off of watching Cary Williams for the first 10 games of the season.
