The six were couples, three men and three women, who were returning from a dental seminar in Florida, The Oxford Eagle reported.
According to Farese Family Dental’s website, Jason and Lea Farese both practiced dentistry together in Oxford since 2004.
Northport Mayor Bobby Herndon said the plane crashed a quarter to a half-mile short of the runway.
The plane reportedly crashed into the Van de Graff Arboretum Park across from the Tuscaloosa Airport. The FAA says the flight departed from Kissimmee Gateway Airport in Florida and was bound for Tuscaloosa. Their three children were not on board, they were staying with friends.
