The plane landed at Logan global Airport shortly after noon, where two Massachusetts State Police vehicles were waiting on the tarmac. Additional charges are possible.

Police have not disclosed the name of the alleged victim, nor her relationship to Halliwell, “out of respect for her privacy”.

A man from the United Kingdom was arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman on board a British Airways flight from London to Houston, and was the reason the flight had to be diverted to Boston’s Logan worldwide Airport, Massachusetts State Police confirm.

Britain’s Daily Mail identified the woman as Halliwell’s wife. WHDH-TV reports the passenger was an intoxicated male who began assaulting his wife on the plane.

The flight was set to continue on to Houston after refueling.

State Police met the plane at the global terminal as it landed and arrested the passenger.

A statement released by British Airways said customers and crew should not have to suffer any form of abuse.
