Garrett Swasey, 44, who was killed, was a campus police officer for the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs who joined city police responding to the shooting.

The second civilian killed was identified as Ke’Arre Stewart, a relative of Stewart told ABC News.

Three people who were shot dead after a gunman opened fire at an abortion clinic in Colorado Springs have been identified. The rampage touched off an hours-long standoff and shootout Friday that also left nine other people in the hospital.
The utterance from suspect Robert Lewis Dear, 57, would appear to reference the controversy surrounding the organization’s health services, which include abortion, and its role in delivering fetal tissue to medical researchers.
Dear is due in court on Monday.
Swasey’s family issued a statement Sunday, the Colorado Springs Gazette reported.
As a skater, Garrett Swasey won a national championship in the junior ranks and competed in the U.S. Championships at least three times, his father said.
“He’s shooting at you as you coming in”. “I don’t think it’s quite hit me”.
Though Colorado police have not commented on a motive yet, investigators say Robert Dear, the alleged shooter, mentioned something about “baby parts” to police after he was taken into custody.
Ozy Licano was one of the civilians who was shot. “It’s just weird to stare into the face of somebody like that, and he didn’t win”. Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers said he was not aware of any threats to the clinic, but said “we can speculate” on the motive.
