Shaheen made a donation announcement at New Hampshire Lottery headquarters in Concord, surrounded by representatives of the nonprofit organizations that will benefit. It’s unclear if the victor will make an appearance.
The ticket was purchased in July at the Hannaford Supermarket in Raymond, N.H., and the town has been abuzz ever since with talk of who the victor might be.
But, according to a press release from the California Lottery, even though that ticket didn’t hit the big jackpot, it did manage to net its holder $1.3 million. The victor elected to take the lump sum option-worth $330.6 million, or about $256 million after taxes. You have now viewed your allowance of free articles.
Tickets are sold in 44 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
