A probe into the 2 million Swiss franc ($1.97 million) payment from Federation Internationale de Football Association to UEFA president Platini in 2011 forms part of a broader corruption scandal shaking the world soccer body.
The payment made to Platini in 2011 was reportedly for work the Frenchman carried out a decade earlier.
Federation Internationale de Football Association President, Sepp Blatter, and Platini are now serving 90-day suspensions ahead of the outcome of an investigation by the ethics committee.
Bin Hammam’s expulsion was overturned on appeal in July 2012, more than one year after a bribery allegation ended his presidential campaign against Blatter.
At the hearing German judge Hans-Joachim Eckert, chairman of the ethics committee’s adjudicatory chamber, will decide if the case against them is proven, and what sanction to impose.
D’Ales said: “The excessive nature of the request really convinces us of this commission’s total lack of credibility”.
Blatter also faces a Swiss criminal investigation over the matter.
Both deny any wrongdoing, with Platini’s candidacy for next year’s elections on hold while the case is investigated.
Speculation has been rife in terms of what punishment Platini might receive, with initial reports suggesting that he and Blatter would be hit with either a 5 or 6 year ban.
Blatter is also considering an attempt to go over the head of the ethics committee, claiming it does not have the power to remove him as president.

The race is likely to be heavily shaped by whether the former France and Juventus midfield star is ultimately admitted, with Infantino indicating he would stand aside if his UEFA boss qualifies for the vote.
