Playboy’s Hugh Hefner gives deposition in Cosby sex abuse case

Bill Cosby’s wife gave few answers about her husband during a contentious deposition in February, according to a transcript of the contentious questioning released Friday and obtained by NBC and the Associated Press.

Monique Pressley, an attorney for Camille Cosby, told her client not to answer the question, saying that she is protected from answering by marital privilege laws.

The deposition was part of a defamation suit against Bill Cosby brought by seven women who accused him of sexual assault and say they were branded liars in response.

The comedian is counter-suing the women, claiming they are making false accusations for their own financial gain.

She was also asked if her husband used his position and power “to manipulate young women”.

Dr. Camille Cosby speaks at the 35th Anniversary of the Jackie Robinson Foundation hosted by Bill Cosby at the Waldorf Astoria hotel on March 3, 2008.

The 78-year-old comedian, who personified the model American family man in the long-running hit sitcom “The Cosby Show”, has acknowledged marital infidelity but denied engaging in any non-consensual sexual behavior.

In Pennsylvania, prosecutors have charged him with molesting a former Temple University employee, Andrea Constand. About 50 women have publicly accused Cosby of forcing unwanted sexual contact on them over the course of decades.

When asked if she had an opinion on whether Bill Cosby acted with a lack of integrity, Camille Cosby said she wouldn’t answer.

She didn’t answer that, either.

‘Was it a big deal when this came up in the 1970s that… your husband had an extramarital affair and potentially had a daughter from that extramarital affair?’ Cammarata asked. She would go on to use that throughout the deposition, with the exception of when she was asked whether or not Bill’s affair in the ’70s that may have resulted in a baby was a big deal back then.

She only admitted knowing Bill Cosby later sued Jackson for extortion.

“I am not answering that”, she replied.

When asked about honesty and what it means, Camille Cosby answered: “I’m not going to expound on this”.

“Do you remember telling Oprah that you told (your husband) to take the test so he could be certain?”

“Is it because you just don’t want to tell me what your opinion is?” he asked.

The comedian also is fighting Huth’s claims that he sexually assaulted her inside the Playboy mansion in 1974 when she was 15 years old.

A judge rejected his motion for a second time last month, and on Wednesday, Huth’s lawyer, Gloria Allred, headed to the Playboy Mansion to question Hefner under oath, reports TMZ.com.
