Player ace lights up Par-3 contest as Walker triumphs
It was quite hard to steal the headlines at the Par 3 contest given that Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas had earlier gone back-to-back with their hole-in-ones.

An ace in the Par-3 Contest isn’t a new feeling for Player.
Watson will begin his final Masters on Thursday, while Player and Nicklaus ended their competitive days at Augusta National in 2009 and 2005, respectively.
The famous green jacket has been awarded to the Masters champion every year since 1949, and the passing of the green jacket from last year’s victor to this year’s is always a great post-tournament moment.
Walker’s round was just one of a host of records set, but it was those claimed by Gary Player that deserve the most acclaim.
Putters were given the day off at Augusta on Wednesday thanks to a record nine holes-in-one during the Masters par-three contest. “I could tell the fire is building back up in his belly, and I suspect Tiger’s going to be back fairly quickly, and I’m looking forward to it”.
The 58-year-old English golfer was in top form at the US Masters par 3 tournament in Augusta on Wednesday.
In a record 52 Masters starts, Player never made a hole-in-one.
“It was sweet. I nearly aced the first, then did ace the second and just kept hitting it close”. “They said it’s your turn this year”.
“Last year was definitely a step in the right direction for me, after good finishes in 2014 in the majors”, Fowler said.
