Since Klopp became the Liverpool manager, Liverpool have lost only one game, which was in the Premier League against Crystal Palace.

After watching Liverpool travel to the Etihad on the weekend, everything is coming together. The front three were scintillating all day.

The German selected the majority of players he had to work with at Melwood during the worldwide break and the link-up play between Coutinho and Firmino certainly proved that was the right call with the latter particularly impressive. Alongside Roberto Firmino who was central to their fluid, attacking style of play at the Etihad. “I think he’s adapted relatively quickly”.

Pellegrini said: “I think that we finished with the game – that very bad game that we played on Saturday – on Sunday morning”.

Carragher told Sky Sports News: “You could see the work that had been done during the week”.

Carragher believes Klopp got his tactics spot on as time spent preparing on the training field paid off.

“You could see the work that had been done during the week”.

All things that were not happening before Klopp came in and we are seeing what a big difference it is making.

Last season, Philippe Coutinho really set himself apart as Liverpool’s talisman, go-to guy and best player as the baton was reluctantly passed on from the departing Steven Gerrard.

Despite Sergio Aguero pulling one back just before half-time, the visitors entered the interval with a commanding lead and a number of their players appeared in disbelief at what was occurring. “We played our game and scored a fourth goal”.

“But he’s showing how vital he is”. That’s what players want: a manager who can make you better, or turn you from a good player into a top player. But under Klopp if you can close someone down it doesn’t matter who is behind you. He knew that there was only limited time to get his methods across if this season was going to be salvaged. But the idea with Klopp is to press and to be aggressive.
