PlayStation 4 Free Online Multiplayer Weekend For All

PlayStation Now is the Sony subscription service that allows players of the PlayStation 4 players to get access to Playstation 3 games. An added benefit of a subscription is the free monthly games and store discounts. All you have to do is fire up your favorite games like Star Wars Battlefront and Call of Duty: Black Ops III and the online aspects will work instantly.

Sony will be treating everyone that owns a PS4 to free online multiplayer this weekend. That makes sense at first glance, but when you consider Star Wars Battlefront is nearly exclusively an online multiplayer only game (and Destiny is an online only game) Sony’s marketing is a little baffling.

Prior to this, Sony only offered PlayStation Now subscriptions at $20 per month or $45 for three months.

According to the PlayStation Blog, players will be rewarded the chance to play “Star Wars Battlefront’s” Battle of Jakku for free, and this will be ahead of the premiere of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.

Back when it was first announced that online multiplayer would require a PS Plus subscription on PS4, many fans were upset.

Download the Gadgets 360 app for Android and iOS to stay up to date with the latest tech news, product reviews, and exclusive deals on the popular mobiles.

Apart from the games, each bundle also comes with a black-colored PlayStation 4 console with 500GB of storage and one DualShock 4 controller. A month of PlayStation Plus costs $9.99.

Sony’s December promotions do not stop there. Even if you aren’t the sort to play online regularly, it’s well worth it for the games you get access to each month.

One of the big changes that came with the debut of the PS4 was the addition of a paywall to play online, similar to what Xbox Live has been doing for years.
