The Xbox team, under Phil Spencer, has showed an incredible interest in having barriers falling down in gaming, and apparently it is not the only one. The Slim version is guessed to be similar to what the Xbox Slim can offer, an improvement in terms of output, a 4K resolution, but in a smaller form factor. As for Sony at E3, it chose to pass up on the opportunity to launch the PlayStation Neo and instead focused on software. In the interview, he suggests that Sony could be about to choose the largest gaming show in Asia to launch its two new consoles. Sony announced the system in the days before E3, but it didn’t talk about or show off the console at the event.

While the news may be a little surprising for fans considering that the company has a lot of things coming down the road including its own Virtual Reality headset and two new PlayStation 4 consoles, this move mirrors its behavior past year.
Both Sony and Microsoft have promised that their existing consoles will continue to be supported alongside the new hardware, but it’s hard not to feel that you won’t be getting the full experience if you opt to play a game developed with the Neo in mind on a launch PS4.
Furthermore, if it can upgrade games to 4K like the Xbox One S is capable of doing, that would be great! If I had to guess about the trade-in rates, I’d say about $110-120 for Xbox One systems depending on make/model, and maybe $160 for Xbox One S. That being said, usually when one console has a certain piece of tech, its manufacturer’s competitors quickly follow suit. “Zelda is going to be essentially a launch title, it will be the biggest game out”.

Based on several reports, Sony also assured fans that games running on the current console will be compatible with the Neo, and even mentioned that it is prohibiting game developers from creating games, features or modes exclusively to the upcoming model. With Gamescom already out of question, another possibility is that the company will be holding its own event to release the new console but there has been no proof to that just yet. But there are some huge leaks, rumours, and one or two actual verified facts that paint a picture, or at least watercolour sketch, of what to expect from the PlayStation Neo.
