PlayStation update add support for HDR
In the course of the event of PlayStation Meeting, Sony has not only announced PlayStation 4 Slim and PlayStation 4 Pro but also a new vertical stand, the new DualShock 4 model and headphones of Platinum Wireless Headset.

Quick Menu Music – The new update introduces Quick Menu, which lets a user access the menu without having to leave the game. Everything including game saves, data and account information can be transferred from one console to another with the help of a LAN connection.
If you are a regular here on Ghacks you know that I like my electronic devices to be as quiet as possible, and that is one thing the PS4 Slim delivers that the PS4 Pro won’t in the same fashion.
The games will be the same discs and downloads, but the in-game models and graphics will be more detailed on the Pro. Once inside, you can select from a bunch of different options to view a game’s Overview, Trending media, Friends and Communities, and related PlayStation Store content. Check out the video at the top of this post for a full rundown of all the new UI tweaks and features.
The main features of the update include HDR and folder support.
The consoles will now include an enhanced Music section which allows users to navigate and control Spotify without needing to open the app.
The enhancements will range from everything from a resolution bump to take advantage of the newer TVs on the market to HDR Lighting to improved frame-rates and more refined visual effects.
Those are just some of the more prominent additions making their way to PS4 in this update, but there are a number of other refinements to the system software overall. Update 4.0 will release tomorrow on September 13, 2016, and will be headlined by the ability to transfer data from one PS4 to another in anticipation of the PS4 Pro. It looks stylish, clutter free and most of all makes your PS4 console a fun gaming platform to enjoy games the way you want it to with high quality HDR output.
