Everyone’s favourite pale god-killer is back sporting a magnificent beard.

Nothing adds more drama than sinister sounding orchestral music, and McCreary’s crew did not disappoint. The series has taken a bit of change in direction, with Kratos now living in seclusion in the land of Norse mythology (because hey, when you’ve killed all the Greek gods, why not enter a different mythos) with a new, magical axe, a lumberjack beard and son to keep him company.

Before you ask, there will be plenty of PS4 games ready by the time PlayStation VR launches, with Sony partners having created around 50 titles for virtual reality. But, looking at the trailer it seems that VR-enabled interactions in FFXV is going to be “gun heavy”, with the VR player attacking enemies with a revolver in a first person perspective, before occasionally jumping out of that view as if on a selfie stick to view their protagonist wearing a PlayStation VR headset.

The Last Guardian is coming this October 26.

“We’ll see how it goes”, she said.

When I first saw this, I thought to myself; “Wow, this looks really familiar”.

I’m not sure the idea of taking Kratos so seriously plays to the strengths of the character, who is best when he’s blowing his top and indulging in antic splatter, but the game looked attractive and many seem to think a change of pace is needed. With Days Gone we get to see another post-apocalyptic world where zombies have taken over and people struggle to survive.

Horizon: Zero Dawn will launch February 28 next year and it still looks as handsome and weird as ever. It was followed by Quantic Dream’s Detroit: Become Human, which hammered home the studio’s idiosyncratic choice and effect systems and introduced a secondary protagonist.

Androids, choices, information gathering and puzzle solving.

Still, the real fun for PS VR won’t start until 2017, anyway, when Resident Evil VII: Biohazard arrives.

Another surprise announcement is the reveal of “Resident Evil 7”, and it looks like it has returned to its horror roots, Telegraph reports.

Incongruous music aside, the VR demo was quite atmospheric; wouldn’t you agree?

Farpoint sets out to be an unnerving space adventure set on a hostile alien world. This all-new mission will be exclusive to PS VR this holiday, and is free*** for owners of Star Wars Battlefront. The Sony E3 show also gave us glimpse of Batman, Call of Duty and Assassin’s Creed VR games and experiences. Moving to third-party content was the obligatory look at an action-packed Call of Duty sequence.

Mark your calendars, video game fans. The erstwhile Sony mascot is making an appearance in the upcoming Skylanders Imaginators, and new HD ports of the original three Crash games are apparently on the way.

The latest installment will let players create their own Skylanders with a slew of insane customisation options. Spoiler alert, they all look pretty impressive. A console generation ago, motion controls hit the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with a handful of games on each machine, generating early buzz and then fading into the background. Also, he’s back with a game starring Norman Reedus.
