Sony expects about 50 full games will be ready for PlayStation VR when it launches in October this year. The overall cost of using PlayStation VR is cheaper than its PC counterparts as well, as a PlayStation 4 now retails at around $360, several hundred dollars cheaper than a PC powerful enough to handle Rift or Vive.

The PlayStation VR will become available in October and is priced at $399. The Oculus Rift is in pre-orders on its official website since January to more than 700 euros including shipping, while the live HTC and Valve will be launched in April and costs 899 euros.

Sony previewed the content that will be bundled with the PlayStation VR headset. He also revealed that more than 230 developers are developing content for PlayStation VR. Some people already own the camera, and many people already own PS Move.

The bundle will ship with the PSVR headset and all that is comes with, a PlayStation Eye camera, two PlayStation move controller and a game: PlayStation VR Worlds (which includes five games within it). Lots of VR games were announced including the bird simulator Eagle Flight from Ubisoft and a remake of the rhythm based on-rails shoot, Rez.

PlayStation VR was first announced at the 2014 Game Developers Conference under the name of Project Morpheus. Sony says quantities will be limited, though the company also mentions it will start accepting another wave of pre-orders in the summer.

This means that titles on the current-gen PlayStation 4 can still be played with the PlayStation VR even if the copies don’t support virtual reality.
