Sony is opening up the PlayStation VR pre-orders again this morning in about an hour’s time, but those looking to order the core headset bundle will have to wait a week.
So far Best Buy, EB Games and Walmart have launched dedicated webpages where consumers can preorder the bundle. The VR Launch Bundle sells for $499.99(USD) in the U.S. and $699.99(CAD) in Canada. One thing to note here is that as of today, Sony is only accepting pre-orders for the launch bundle, which comes with all the add-ons and cost $499.
Keep in mind that neither bundle includes the PlayStation 4 itself, which now sells for $350. The platform holder also announced that 230 developers are now working on PlayStation VR games.
When the Rift and HTC Vive headsets went up for pre-order this year, it quickly became clear there was a high demand for the products.
Sony caused a bit of controversy last week as it relates to its PlayStation VR headset. GameStop only has a 2016 release date.
Preorders for the PlayStation VR core bundle will begin in one week, specifically March 29, starting from 7:00 a.m. Pacific. All PlayStation VR units will include a digital download of “The Playroom VR”. Importantly, the Oculus Rift has a $599 price tag and the HTC Vive is the costliest at $799.

Regardless of the growing interest in VR, many in the gaming industry – and beyond – remain apprehensive, despite the fact those clunky, nausea-inducing VR headsets of the 1990s have morphed into the sleeker, lower-latency goggles of today.
