PlayStation Vue Streams to Roku Players, Roku TVs

Now PlayStation Vue is coming to two more platforms: starting today you can access the service on a Roku device and starting next week PlayStation Vue will be available for Android devices.

In the announcement, Sony wrote: “Next week, we’ll be launching the PlayStation Vue mobile app for Android, so you can use your existing subscription to access PlayStation Vue on Android smartphones and tablets (with OS v4.4 and higher) through our mobile app”.

PlayStation Vue, which starts at just $29.99, came out of beta earlier this year, but is still only available in the United States. The PlayStation Vue service joins Dish’s rival Sling TV service, which has been on Roku for more than a year. Google Chromecast is also supported via compatible devices with the PlayStation Vue mobile app.

While Sony has not given a hard date for the Android app launch, next week is not too far off so it won’t be a long wait, and with a general time frame now having been listed, those who are interested in checking the service out will be able to stop wondering.

PlayStation Vue is a new cable option for cord cutters that features no additional fees or long-term contracts.

Vue comes in three package options: Access, which offers 55 channels for $30 a month; 70-channel Core for $35 and the 100-plus channel Elite package for $50.

In addition to Android and Roku, Vue has already been available on Sony’s own PS3 and PS4 game consoles, Amazon Fire devices and iPhones and iPads.
