Plaskon, the love-struck CT teen who “claimed he heard demonic voices” and cut up Sanchez because she was dating his friend, Jarrod Butts, 18, pleaded no contest in a Milford Superior Court to murdering Sanchez – a shocking crime that rocked the waterfront community for its abrupt brutality.

The sentencing is scheduled for June 6.

Plaskon was 16-years-old when he killed Sanchez.

When police arrived at a United States high school to respond to a report of an altercation in April 2014, they found “considerable blood evidence” at a stairwell and recovered a knife in a hallway, not far from the grisly scene.

Also according to documents, a friend told police that Plaskon had implied he wanted to hurt Maren because he wanted to be more than just friends with her and he wanted to take her to the prom, but she was seeing someone else. Plaskon was taken to the principal’s office in bloody clothing and told police, “I did it”. Attorneys said at a hearing Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, that a possible plea agreement had not been reached to resolve the case against 18-year-old Christopher Plaskon. The medical examiner’s office said she was stabbed in the torso and neck.

Plaskon has pleaded not guilty to murder. Sanchez had rejected his invitation to come with him to the prom.

While Maren Sanchez’s family declined to comment, wishing to save their statements for sentencing day, an attorney representing her father spoke outside of court, saying “Nothing that happened this morning is going to bring Maren back”.

Plaskon, who was overheard muttering to himself a day or so before the attack, also told cops that “demons” had been instructing him before the killing.

According to the friend, Plaskon said he “wouldn’t mind if [Maren] was dead or hit by a bus”.

Plaskon’s mental health has been evaluated by both sides.

He said his son seemed to be “in good spirits” when he arrived at school that morning, according to the Courant, which cited the documents.
