PM chairs meeting to review quake relief, rescue operations
In a recent meeting held on October 22 between the US President Barack Obama and Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Washington, both leaders expressed their commitment to advance an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace and reconciliation process between the Afghan government and the Afghan Taliban.

The minister said the global organizations had reported that the intensity of the natural disaster was 7.5 at the Richter Scale and had a depth of 193 to 212 miles at 2.09 p.m, while local met office recorded it at 8.1. The Chairman NDMA said civil and military rescue and relief teams are busy in different areas.
He said the Prime Minister visited Shangla today which was badly affected by the quake.
Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Ahmad, federal ministers and other top officials will attend the meeting.
“It’s sad and devastating. I pray that the Almighty Allah give patience to those who have suffered losses and grant a place in heaven to those who have been martyred”, he said.
“Before announcing the relief package I and the K-P chief minister early morning deliberated at length on the package”, he said and added: “I have told the chief minister that the federal government will support the provincial government in any way possible in carrying out relief efforts”.

The prime minister cut short his stay in London for a day and left for Pakistan to deal with the aftermath of the quake.
