Declining to divulge the contents of the report, he said it is based on facts collected on the mob violence in Dadri’s Bisara village in which Mohammed Akhlaque, 50, was lynched by a mob on rumours that he had consumed beef at home. “Why did you take oath on the constitution”, he said and demanded the SP chief to respond.

Union Home Ministry ordered the state government of Uttar Pradesh to submit a report over the Dadri lynching of a Muslim man and to detail the subsequent action taken by the authorities on October 1, 2015. “A lot of these issues can be sorted out by proper dialogue between representatives of various communities and we plan to set up a body to facilitate this which will help maintain communal harmony”, the official said.
Maharaj even attacked Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for giving Rs 45 lakh as compensation to Akhlaq’s family. Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said that the Dadri incident in Uttar Pradesh is a crime against humanity.
Condemning the incident, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said, “India is a mature society”.
Meanwhile, politics continued over the incident even as the family of the deceased has appealed for calm and peace. On BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi’s statement promising a ban on beef in Bihar, Owaisi pointed out that cow slaughter is banned in that state since 1955.
Asserting that the Dadri incident is no less than the demolition of Babri Masjid in 1992, Khan had said that the RSS and the BJP have declared that they will create “Hindu Rashtra”. The incident is the result of carelessness of state administeration.
The local police, in the Bisada village, who had been stationed since the incident on September 28, sent back without meeting the victim, Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Sadhvi Prachi today.
