Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet his council of ministers on Friday evening to review progress in implementation of various government initiatives.
He said development today depends quality of ideas and institutions. He said, 30 years ago, a country might have been able to look inward and find its solutions but today, countries are inter dependent and inter connected.
Stressing on the need to bring changes through transformation of governance, Modi said, “We can not march through the twenty-first century with the administrative systems of the nineteenth century”.
The annual lecture series on Transforming India was proposed by Prime Minister Modi to bring in global personalities to share their experiences and ideas on India.
“This is the goal of the Transforming India Lecture Series”.
“No country can afford any longer to develop in isolation”.
“Group of secretaries had suggested transformative ideas to PM to push economic growth in the country”. The goal is to convert ideas that emerge in today’s session into specific action points relevant to each group.
Earlier on Friday, Modi met with Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam, who will give the first lecture.
