PM Modi is self obsessed narcissist: RJD
As reported by news agency Press Trust of India, Sharif had donned the “Indian Rajasthani pink turban” which was gifted to him by PM Narendra Modi. There is a sense that Modi and Sharif, more so than any two concurrent Indian and Pakistani leaders in a long time, have a positive personal rapport.

After that meeting, the Indian and Pakistani National Security Advisors met in Bangkok for previously unannounced talks, followed by a visit by India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to Islamabad for the “Heart of Asia” meeting.
In this year’s budget, the Modi-led Government had announced slew of measures to encourage start-ups including setting up of India Aspiration Fund and Atal Innovation Mission. Modi’s visit might be considered a nice birthday surprise for Sharif. “Religious tolerance has been undermined and attempts have been made to curb freedom of expression, denting the global image of the country”, said Gogoi. But along with that has come the sobering reminder that India’s policy toward Pakistan needs consistency as the two countries have had an uneven past.
“By striking breakthrough deals across Russian Federation and Afghanistan, Modi has cemented his ties with his allies, bring Pakistan in the mix with diplomatic ingenuity. Besides, it also demonstrates that Mr Sharif values the gift of Mr Modi”, the Times of India citing a Pakistani official in its report said.
Before and after it came to power, the Bhartiya Janta Party has been consistent in opposing any dialogue with the separatists in Kashmir, even physically stopping them from meeting the Pakistan ambassador in Delhi last summer.
Spurning official talks in the capital Islamabad, India’s leader chose to make an intimate trip to Sharif’s ancestral residence near Lahore on Friday, where he was celebrating his birthday and the wedding of his granddaughter.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the fourth Prime Minister of India to visit Pakistan and the first Prime Minister to visit Pakistan in the last 11 years.
Indian High Commissioner Dr TCA Raghavan on Tuesday paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the PM House.
The prime minister also urged the general public to change the way the physically challenged people are being addressed by them. India accuses Pakistan-based militants for masterminding the 2008 Mumbai attacks that left 166 dead.
“Our understanding is that when Modi was in the United States, he was encouraged very strongly by Obama to rethink his approach toward Pakistan”, the minister said.
