Prime Minister Narendra Modi today wrapped up his five-day visit to Britain and Turkey after making a strong case for a united global fight against terrorism.
Modi also sought early adoption of the Comprehensive Convention on global Terrorism. The group represents over 3 billion people or over 40 per cent of the world population.
The G20 leaders also pledged to put in place a system for automatic exchange of information by 2017 or end 2018.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India was likely to grow at over 8 percent next year but global economic growth remained weak and it needed capital flows as also efforts to facilitate labour mobility and skill portability.
Modi also strongly condemned the terror attacks, most recently in Paris in which 129 people were killed and over 352 injured. “Efforts to accelerate global economic growth will help trade”, the prime minister said in his intervention during the working luncheon session at G20 Summit on the topic “trade and energy”. In fact, in his first term, India was at the top of the list of emerging powers his government made a decision to court, only to be snubbed by India’s government, then led by the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance coalition. “We need to restructure the worldwide legal framework to deal with the unique challenges of terrorism”, he said.
“I would invite those in Europe who try to change the migration agenda we have adopted – I would like to remind them to be serious about this and not to give in to these basic reactions that I do not like. We should define a target date before 2030 to reduce the high costs of transferring remittances”.
The PM said India does not see development and climate change as competing objectives.
US President Barack Obama vowed to step up efforts to eliminate ISIS in Syria and prevent it from carrying out attacks like those in Paris, while European leaders urged Russian Federation to focus its military efforts on the radical Islamists.
The Paris attacks have turned Antalya into a heavy- guarded town and all musical events including at the official dinner tonight have been cancelled as a mark of respect for the victims of Paris attacks.

Cameron said at a press conference he wants the United Kingdom to be India’s “number one partner” for supporting the finance of Indian infrastructure improvements planned by Modi. He along with other global leaders raised the burning issue of “foreign jihadists”, and in a joint statement said that it must be controlled.
