PM Modi meets top fortune 500 CEOs
Soon after his landmark address at the United Nations Summit on sustainable development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi pitched for reforms at the United Nations Security Council while addressing leaders of Germany, Japan and Brazil at the G-4 summit in New York City. An official Chinese video explaining the importance of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, a Chinese-led multilateral grouping of which India is a member, depicted an animated Modi using a selfie stick.

A statement said they appreciated Modi for “energetic and dynamic leadership” and expressed optimism about the future of India during the meeting wherein the focus was on the role that the media and entertainment industry can play in development and generation of employment opportunities in the country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi gestures before his departure for San Jose, in New York on Saturday. He will also meet Apple CEO Tim Cook and later other tech company chiefs, like Microsoft’s Satya Nadella, Google’s Sundar Pichai, Adobe’s Shantanu Narayen, Qualcomm’s Paul Jacobs, Cisco’s John Chambers, and The Indus entrepreneurs president Venky Shukla.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu flew through San Jose during his Silicon Valley stopover previous year, as have numerous US presidential candidates looking for money from tech executives. “We want to have the same model in India”, Amardeep Purewal, from the Sikhs For Justice, said.
Modi is slated to partake in a townhall question-and-answer session alongside Mark Zuckerberg Sunday at Facebook’s headquarters. Ami Bera is the only Indian-American in the current Congress, to represent the silicon valley in the house of representatives.
Making a strong pitch for increased investment in various sectors in India, the Prime Minister outlined his vision for “Start-Ups in India”.
Event organizers now believe Modi might have been able to fill the almost 70,000 seats at Levi’s Stadium, which last month hosted sold-out concerts by pop singer Taylor Swift – one of only a few dozen people in the world who has amassed a bigger audience on Twitter and Facebook than Modi. The first US Congressman of Asian-origin, Dalip Singh Saund, was elected from the state, and more recently the state has returned the third federal lawmaker of Indian-origin, Congressman Ami Bera from the Sacramento area (Bobby Jindal was the second).
Another notable celebration for Modi should be driving on new companies. Some have said that that is a loophole that needs to be closed.

When Modi swept into power as India’s prime minister in May 2014, he promised to transform the country’s economy after several years of tepid growth.
