08 de septiembre de 2016, 10:06Vientiane, Sep 8 (Prensa Latina) Indian prime minister, Narendra Modi, has today warned of the danger that growing radicalism and terrorism represents for the world, while pledging coordinated strategies to face the threat.
Asked how he interpret Xi’s comments that ” China is willing to work with India”, Hu said India and China went through hard times in improving relations over the years.
Stating that most countries in the South Asian region were pursuing a peaceful path to economic prosperity, he said: “But, there is one country in India’s neighbourhood whose competitive advantage rests exclusively in producing and exporting terrorism”. Modi’s meeting with Li came just four days after he met Xi on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Hangzhou.
This could well be the last bilateral meeting between PM Modi and Barack Obama before the latter demits office in January next year.
The White House made the announcement of the bilateral meeting in its official announcement of the President’s schedule.
In recent weeks, India has ratcheted up criticism of Pakistan, accusing it of inciting protests in Kashmir, while ties with China have been fraught over Beijing’s blocking of New Delhi’s entry into the Nuclear Suppliers Group.
The Prime Minister reemphasised India’s steadfast support to ASEAN-centric initiatives such as the Initiative for ASEAN Integration: Narrowing the Development Gap and the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity 2025. Seamless digital connectivity between India and Southeast Asia is a shared objective.
PM Narendra Modi addressed the India-ASEAN Summit today.
“Sea lanes are life lines of global trade”. On Thursday, Modi steered clear of referring to the tribunal order, while articulating India’s stock posture on the South China Sea – support for the freedom of navigation and overflight, and unimpeded commerce.
