PM Modi to chair first all party meet on Kashmir today
“Incitement to violence and terrorism across the border, parading of internationally recognised terrorists like Hafiz Saeed and Syed Salahuddin, and honest follow up on the Mumbai attack trial and the Pathankot attack investigation in Pakistan”, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Vikas Swarup said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said in an all-party meeting that the roots of tension in the Kashmir Valley lay in cross-border terrorism, that is sponsored by Pakistan.
A section in the Indian establishment favours a counter-offensive by New Delhi over human rights violations in PoK and Balochistan, where Pakistan’s security forces are accused of extra-judicial killings in a crackdown on groups seeking greater autonomy for the resource-rich province.
The prime minister in an unambiguous terms said, that there can not be any compromise on national security.
Sources indicate that the intended message is timed with the Modi Government’s understanding that Pakistan wants to create a situation which will lead to a break-up of the BJP and Mehbooba Mufti led PDP (People’s Democratic Party) alliance in J&K.
This is the second time in less than a week that Modi has reached out to people of the state, hinting towards a dialogue with all stakeholders.
“We have heard the government representatives, including home minister Rajnath Singh, speaking in Parliament. Normal life is affected due to terrorism in the Valley from 1989”, said Modi detailing the seizure of arms and ammunition from Pakistan infiltrated terrorists into the Valley.
The Hizbul leader categorically said: “Our base camp in liberated Azad Kashmir (read Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir – PoK) and the Kashmiri people from this side will announce the trampling of the bloody Line of Control. We have already taken up the matter with Pakistan, including our offer to provide consular access to this Pakistani terrorist”, he said.
Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who also attended the meet, assured the government “full cooperation” on “any positive step in the endeavour of solving the Kashmir issue”. The all-party meeting will also indicate that across the political spectrum in India holds Pakistan responsible for brewing trouble in the Valley. “The only way to resolve Kashmir issue permanently is a sustained dialogue and democratic engagement”, he told a local news agency KNS.

Asked if any decision had been taken on curbing the use of pellet guns, which has triggered an outrage, both the ministers said an expert committee was examining the issue and a decision would be taken once the report is filed.
