PM Modi Vows to Root Out Corruption, Says Change Has Come

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his ministers on Saturday highlighted the achievements of the NDA, which turned two on May 26, at a six-hour mega show at Delhi’s India Gate.

– I am standing before people of the country with satisfaction. On one hand there is the agenda of development and on the other hand is the agenda of obstructionsism.

“In our campaign to stop corruption, our government has saved over Rs. 36,000 crore leakages”.

“After assuming power, it was on the top of our agenda to first address the issue of corruption and in this regard, my government had taken series of steps to tackle it”, said the prime minister.

Paswan said Modi came from a poor family and the government was oriented towards welfare of the poor.

Delhi is witnessed a special programme- Ek Nayi Subah- which marked the second anniversary of the BJP-led government at the centre as ministers, politicians, celebrities and other dignitaries assembled at the venue to be a part of the celebration. The trust of people is growing day by day.

– As long as we do not remember the work done during the days of the previous government, we will not be able to realise that what a big task has been accomplished.

Meanwhile, Amitabh said the girl child should be nurtured, educated and treated as equal and how “Beti Bachao, Beti Padao” aims at ending discrimination against them. “We have destroyed mother earth and we have exploited it”, Modi said, and added that a Soil Health Card had been introduced which would enable the farmer to study his soil and decide the best conditions for the crops to grow in. “It is an example of people’s participation”, he said.

Exclaiming that the government had championed the cause of eradicating corruption and working tirelessly to expose it in every sector, Modi said that the work of the previous government has to be analysed so that people can make out the vast difference which was apparent now.

Emphasising the need for uniform taxation system, the Finance Minister said, the government has made direct tax system simpler and put in place redressal mechanism.

He said there was a “new thinking” among people and this was the biggest change.

On cooking gas connections, Modi said: “In the next three years we will bring LPG connections to five crore people”. We have left no stone unturned in our hardwork.
