PM Narendra Modi Highlights Need for Organ Donations
In the 13th edition of his radio broadcast “Mann ki Baat” delivered in the midst of Bihar elections on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced no interviews will be held for non-gazetted government jobs from New Year’s Day. Remembering Sardar Patel ahead of his birth anniversary on October 31, PM said, “One country, great country, while remembering Sardar Patel, we visualise the whole landscape of India”.

“Every month the Prime Minister does his Mann Ki Baat, but he remains a mute spectator to other important issues”.
On the backfoot over allegations against his government that it was contemplating scrapping quotas for the Schedule Castes, Scheduled Tribes and OBCs, Modi, on the campaign trail in Bihar, accused RJD chief Lalu Prasad and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar of spreading the “poison” of caste politics. “So many religions, communities, languages, castes and lifestyles, and this diversity is our glory”, he added. “…Therefore, unity in diversity is our “mantra”.
Prime Minister David Cameron invited the premier to visit Britain shortly after Modi’s landslide general election victory in May 2014, in a bid to boost trade and diplomatic ties with India.
Modi said the government had bought the house where B.R. Ambedkar used to live in London. The property was recently acquired by India from the British government.
“When Ambedkar’s name is associated, you can imagine how much happiness people like me have”, Modi said. He also talked about how the “Swacch Bharat” Abhiyan is being carried forward by media and common people, the importance of organ donation, progress of the “MP Adarsh Gram Yojana” as also the festivals of Navratra, Eid and Diwali.
