In his address at the Sher-e-Kashmir stadium in Srinagar, Shri Narendra Modi recalled former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s message of Kashmiriyat, Jamhooriyat, Insaniyat.

“Education, human resource, agriculture sector, health sector, road network are needed in the state…the government has decided a package of Rs80,000 crore for Jammu and Kashmir. It is the state government’s domain, but they must have had good reasons for doing this”, he said.

On Wednesday, the police detained Independent MLA and lawmaker Engineer Rashid in northern Kashmir when he was addressing various public meetings and urged people not to attend the rally of PM Modi and stage protests on that day.

Modi said, “You stand on your feet as today in Delhi there is a government which is living for you and wants to do something for you but you have to come forward”.

“There should be a model of development in the state which should provide employment to the youth”.

Modi, during his talks with visiting Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao, also highlighted opportunities in Railways, smart cities, infrastructure and urban transport for cooperation between India and China, a PMO release said.
