PNC customers report problems with debit, credit card access
Customers took to social media early Friday after experiencing problems using debit and credit cards and accessing their online accounts.

The Wall Street Journal reported that First Data Corp, a third party company that processes transactions for card-issuing banks and millions of businesses, experienced an outage caused by a “hardware issue”.
PNC Bank spokeswoman Marcey Zwiebel blamed “a service vendor technical issue” that began about 6 a.m. and was resolved five hours later.

A PNC bank spokesperson said the problems started around 4 a.m. MT and were resolved before 9 a.m. Customers were able to access their money from an ATM throughout the online outage.
