Pochettino organised SAF meeting – but Spurs knew
Tottenham, who hope to clinch second place when they travel to Newcastle on Sunday, missed out on the title this season but Ferguson considers the Argentine the best manager in the Premier League.

Out of all the candidates, Pochettino is the person I’d love to replace van Gaal, far more than Mourinho.
The two, alongside Pochettino’s assistant Jesus Perez, were seen outside Scott’s Restaurant in London’s Mayfair on Tuesday.
However, the Mirror claims that the meeting was purely because both Pochettino and Sir Alex have a mutual respect for each other.
Pochettino already stated in April, that he had reached a verbal agreement with the North London club, over a new five-year deal that would keep him at White Hart Lane until 2021.
Pochettino made a hasty exit on foot, while Ferguson was shepherded into a auto.
“Well, the manager [Pochettino] has been fantastic”, the United legend once said about the 44-year-old manager.
“They have a bad record of managers, there is no doubt about that”.
According to a report in the Daily Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur were aware of Mauricio Pochettino’s meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson.
In February, Labour MP for Tottenham, David Lammy, told The Spurs Show podcast: “I’m going to let you into a secret”.

Former United manager Ferguson looked in good spirits as he left the meeting and got into a waiting auto, while Pochettino looked rather sheepish.
