Louis van Gaal’s side, who are fourth, four points behind City and Arsenal, are at home on Saturday to West Bromwich Albion, the only team to have beaten them at Old Trafford in their last 13 Premier League games.

The French side who face third plaxce Anderlecht next at the Louis Stadium on the 26th of November also maintain a two point gap over the Azerbaijan outfit who remain at the bottom.

In Norway, Ogenyi Onazi played all 90 minutes for Lazio who defeated Rosenburg 2-0.

Spurs were wobbling. Goal scorer Ezekiel’s burst clear, but his low drive only found the side netting.

Spurs follow up the Anderlecht match with the North London Derby this Sunday, a match Son will be looking to take a few part in.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino says that Andros Townsend hasn’t been allowed to train with the first team group this week and isn’t available for tonight’s game because of that. We must remember those games, try to move on from this performance and focus on beating Tottenham.

Tottenham have struggled to juggle the Europa League with their top-four ambitions in recent seasons but Pochettino resisted the temptation to rest players ahead of the crunch match at the Emirates, as only Danny Rose, Walker and Dembele dropped out of the starting line-up.

“Because of that we gave him the chance to play, he took the chance and he plays now because he deserves to”.

“When you have to push the players every day, it is hard for the players and you can be proud of how they recovered for (the game against Anderlecht). The staff need to show respect to the player and the player needs to show respect to the staff”, Pochettino said.

“Of course I’m disappointed with the result but I thought we deserved a draw or even more”, Hasi said.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are boosted by the return of forward Son Heung-min for the match against Anderlecht, with Pochettino saying he will be in the squad.

“Today was not easy – playing against a team with a new manager when they are very motivated”, Pochettino said.

Tottenham Hotspur substitutes not used: Michel Vorm, Federico Fazio, Kevin Wimmer, Tom Carroll. If Anderlecht are to get anything from this game Defour and Okaka will be central to their hopes.
