Pogba continues to troll United as move drags on

So just when it seemed as if the transfer of the summer was set to be confirmed, the wait for United fans to welcome Pogba back to Old Trafford continues.

Paul Pogba is unlikely to undergo a medical with Manchester United today as Juventus are yet to give the midfielder permission to do so.

Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale is now the world’s most expensive footballer, having joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 for a fee of €100m, while team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo is in second place after his €94m euro transfer from Manchester United in 2009.

Pogba would be manager Mourinho’s fourth summer signing, joining Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan at Old Trafford. The add-ons will include a bonus to Juventus should he renew his contract at United and another should he win the Ballon d’Or.

Speculation about their future has ramped up after they were both left out of the club’s pre-season tour of Sweden, as reported by the Chronicle.

Pogba made 49 appearances for Juve last term and scored 10 goals and provided 16 assists in all competitions.

If you bring one player in for £100 million and he gets injured, then it all goes through the chimney.

To streamline his squad for next season, Mourinho has begun to cull players, with World Cup victor Schweinsteiger the most high-profile casualty.

‘We have done a number of double training sessions, but I am not anxious about them being exhausted on Saturday as the reality is we have to work and are looking at the game tomorrow as one more training session because the players need minutes’.
