Pogba not worth the money Juventus want to sell for, says Scholes

Premier League giants Manchester United are likely to pay a world record fee for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba if they sign him, but his agent Mino Raiola isn’t too concerned with getting an enormous sum.

A fellow midfielder, the former England worldwide doesn’t think that the 23-year-old is worth the record-breaking price being quoted.

He added: “I can’t tell you if Pogba is worth that price today but all I know is that he’s an exceptional player”.

“For that money, you would need a player who scores 50-plus goals a season, like Ronaldo or Messi”.

United have been heavily linked with a deal worth in excess of £100million (€120m) to bring Pogba back from Juventus, who he joined on a free transfer in 2012.

What are your thoughts on Paul Pogba’s reported transfer to Manchester United?

“For his age, he was asking for far too much money, too much for a player who hadn’t played first-team football”.

“Okay, he has gone on to great things. Woodward and the owners will get the profile of player that I think the squad needs to have a good balance”.

‘You have smoke, you have fire, ‘ says Jose Mourinho on the Paul Pogba speculation.

However, Scholes is of the opinion that Pogba is hugely overpriced.

“I think Gundogan is a really impressive player”.

“This Manchester United team isn’t as good as the PSG team”.

Paul Scholes is now playing in Premier Futsal, a tournament which also features fellow United legend Ryan Giggs.

Echoing his Manchester United teammate Ryan Giggs’s idea of developing the sport in the country, Scholes said it is imperative for kids to generate interest and start early.

Speaking ahead of Man United’s ICC clash with Borussia Dortmund in Shanghai, the Portuguese cheekily revealed that with the three players he had gotten (Ibrahimovic, Mkhitaryan and Bailly), 75% of his transfer business was done.
