One woman’s reaction to getting poison ivy in her eyes is going viral.

Petrozza told FOX61 she believes she got poison ivy in her eyes after rubbing them sometime over the weekend after either fishing or taking care of feral cats, both of which she does frequently. It wasn’t until Sunday night when she began seeing “little red bumps” on her eyes. “I could see a little bit but my eyes were so swollen that it hurt to keep them open”.

After confirming Petrozza will be totally fine, Twitter users jumped in to crack jokes about her absurd appearance.
A friend drove her to a walk-in clinic and took a photo of Emily that she sent to Emily’s 17-year-old sister, Lauren.
Lauren tells Buzzfeed that she expected people in her town to get a good laugh out of it.
Emily was initially not pleased that the photos of her swollen eyes were posted but later found the response from others to be quite amusing.
According to BuzzFeed, Emily Petrozza, 21, from Connecticut, USA, burst into tears when she saw her reflection after waking up.
The photos have received over 32,000 retweets and 57,000 likes on Twitter so far.
“It’s so weird having so much attention all of a sudden from social media”, Emily says. I just thought it was hilarious, ‘ she said. Speaking to Fox 61, she said: “I want people to know I’m not mad at my sister for posting the picture in the first place”.

Emily was given a course of medication and is now much better.
