‘Pokémon Go’ expansion marred by a possible cyberattack

The official Pokémon Go Twitter account acknowledged something was wrong with the game on Saturday morning, with some users reporting they had regained access to the app by early afternoon.

The virtual reality based game has blended the real world perfectly with an augmented Pokemon world.

Nintendo is pushing to release this game as widespread as possible because of the enormous gains it has received in the first two weeks of launch.

Players can find and catch roughly 250 different Pokemon cartoon characters in real-world locations using their smartphones and the power of Google Maps. And Chicago hasn’t been immune to the “dangers” of Pokemon Go, as one man was mugged while playing the game in Edgewater.

No one should be surprised by the explosion of popularity with Pokemon GO.

It’s a sad day for Pokemon fans in Asia and other parts of Europe as Niantic Labs confirmed no plans to release “Pokemon GO” anywhere else at the moment. After being launched in United States, Australia, and New Zeeland a week ago, the game was recently released in the United Kingdom and Germany.

Though the specific apps highlighted by ESET seem to have been removed from Google Play Store, a search found several apps named with variations on Install Pokemon Go.

However, the huge success of “Pokemon Go” allowed all interested parties to reap huge income since its release. Niantic rolled out the game in more countries, and over 10 million users already downloaded the app from the Play Store or the App Store, for Android or iOs devices.

Business Insider cited Macquarie Research analyst David Gibson in saying that “Pokemon Go” was jointly created by Nintendo, Pokemon Company and Niantic. The android users have already downloaded the leaked APK of Pokemon GO but that does not have all the features or the best of the Pokemons. According to reports, Pokemon Go is attracting more daily traffic than microblogging site Twitter.
