The Better Business Bureau has cautioned the millions of Pokemon Go users to think about a few nuances before using the app.

Once you download the app on your phone, finding a gym to battle other Pokemon might be easier than you think.
Although it is possible to play the app for free by winning “PokeCoins”, you can buy the app’s currency through an in-app purchase. Decide ahead of time how much money – if any – you’re willing to part with, and try to stick to that decision.
Privacy within the app may also be an issue. After playing for hours every day, consumers with limited data plans may find themselves with a hefty bill at the end of the month. “Players should be respectful of others’ private property”, the BBB wrote.
While players can pay to place “lures” in the game which are attached to specific real-world locations and last for about 30 minutes, he said predators were unlikely to be able to use it to lure children into unsafe situations, as “lures” are a very public signal that attract large groups of people.
“As soon as I saw the little arrow thing flashing for where I needed to go, I realised with horror I’d have to drive into the carpark”, she said.
Furthermore, the iOS version of the app can access all Google data if users sign in with a Google account.
Malware: So far, the app is only available in the U.S., Australia and New Zealand, which has given cybercriminals an opportunity to capitalize on the demand. Users should only download the app through official app stores, not third-party sites.
The BBB also suggests for players to keep safety in mind, especially in unusual locations. A Missouri police department reported robbers using a secluded “PokeStop” location to rob unsuspecting game players.
“I think what surprised me most about the game is how well you can communicate with new people that you’ve never met”, said Kimberly Luu, one Pokemon Go player.
It’s the app getting gamers out of the house and up on their feet.
