The launch of the Pokemon Go app in the United Kingdom has been criticised by the NSPCC. There are reports that Google will downgrade the permissions for “Pokemon Go”.

So what is “Pokemon Go”?

The game is developed by Google spin-off Niantic, with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, and its popularity put severe strain on Niantic’s servers. Similar Web reported that more Americans have installed the monster catching game than the dating App Tinder in the first days of its release.

While rain and storms may initially inhibit players from wandering outside to catch a Pokemon, several Reddit users discovered that the weather has an influence on what characters appear. The game is now sitting on the number one spot on the App Store for the most downloaded free app, according to Quartz.

The NSPCC said it is anxious that offenders could target unsuspecting children by using the app’s geolocation feature.

“It’s a fun, if shallow game that encourages people to go outside and explore their surroundings”.

Speaking to Business Insider, Niantic CEO John Hanke said they had to slow down their global roll-out to upgrade their server capacity. “For younger players especially, the usual advice applies here – be careful where you go and who you talk to”.

“There have been mooted dangers, but I think you have to look at it in the way you would in real life, if somewhere looks unsafe in real life, don’t go there in the game, no matter what the reward in the game”.

What hurts most of the players the most is that Pokemon game has access to your location and many other information.
