Pokemon GO Becomes The Biggest Mobile Game In U.S History
Pokemon GO has broken several records since its release, and now the mobile game is the most popular app in the U.S. Pokemon GO has 21 million daily active users and has passed the super popular game, Candy Crush Saga.

Despite only releasing a week ago, Pokemon Go has already set a new bench mark in the US. Another worthy opponent, Draw Something, was only able to reach 16 million users.
The report shows that iPhone users spent more than time using Pokemon Go than the leading social media apps. Three days after its release, it had more downloads than Twitter. Whether you’re someone who grew up with Pokemon as a kid when it was still fresh, or you’ve now got kids of your own who are also fans of the franchise, there’s no doubting that the game has swept the country and other parts of the globe internationally. It is forecasted to overtake Snapchat and Google Maps shortly, providing the explosive launch growth can be sustained. While the game is free for download on all platforms, users can spend real money on “in-app” purchases (Pokemon GO microtransactions).
As highlighted in the report, long term success will be the biggest goal and challenge for Niantic, The Pokémon Company and Nintendo. Nintendo has a stake price on profits earned by the game, explaining why its share price increased soon after the release of the game.

“History hasn’t always been kind to games that generate tremendous hype”. Nintendo’s last mobile game, Miitomo, met a similar fate, finding early success that was ultimately unsustainable. In fact, the game was launched in the United Kingdom earlier this week.
