Pokemon Go Buddy System Officially Announced

After data miners had discovered a Pokemon GO Buddy System earlier this week, developer Niantic went ahead and confirmed the feature this past Friday.

The report states that several key updates are speculated to launch this September although it is uncertain if these updates will include brand new Pokemon.

From the outset, Niantic has made it clear that Pokemon GO is an experience that, like the very pocket monsters in the game, will evolve over time.

Well, Niantic is soon planning to give you a chance to do the same with the addition of a new ‘Buddy System’. While a Pokemon is designated to buddy duty, players won’t be able to use it for other tasks in the game.

The new update will allow players to collect candy of the Pokemon that they choose to buddy with. The selected Buddy Pokemon can be swapped out for a different Pokemon from the player’s collection at any time. Likewise, a buddy Pokemon is unable to fight in gym battles.

The objective of having a buddy Pokemon is to earn candy. If the trainer and the chosen Pokemon walk together, they will gain one-of-a-kind in-game rewards and bonuses.

It is astounding how rapidly “Pokemon GO” is tumbling from the front line of popular culture because of Niantic’s incompetence in maintaining the game and its seeming refusal to listen to the “Pokemon GO” fan base.

According to Otakukart, the rumored “Trading” feature for Pokemon Go was the most-talked topic on reddit when a reddit user posted the topic on the said community site. Some Pokemon GO datamining efforts have shown that even legendary Pokemon have the 3 KM distance assigned to them, like Mew, Mewtwo, Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos. Whether this will convince some of the players to come back to the game is a whole other issue.
