Pokemon Go dethroned as top-grossing app

Since then, however, the lack of engaging updates and a series of patches that resulted in players being unceremoniously blocked from the game have disenchanted millions of Pokemon GO players. But after 74 days as the top-grossing app in the App Store, it was unseated by strategy game Clash Royale. The same data shows that Pokemon Go’s reign was a short one, compared to the long lasting dominance of Clash of Clans, which held the number one spot for 347 consecutive days. The game is still sitting at the number one position in countries such as Denmark, Luxemburg, Poland, Portugal, Great Britain, Thailand, Belgium, and Australia.

Supercell’s newest game Clash Royale took the top spot in the top grossing iPhone apps in the U.S. after this week’s patch that brought a slew of new features.

There are still big things in store for Pokemon GO, too. Will Pokemon Go rise to the top again?
