The launch in Japan has, expectedly, brought down the servers for the game worldwide- so if, after a few days of relative stability, you are experiencing more server errors and disconnections today, you now know why.

The two companies behind the Pokémon Go augmented reality mobile game released a video addressed to the Japanese public to coincide with the long-awaited release of the game in its ancestral homeland.
In the game, players search for and catch Pokemon characters, which appear at specific locations on a real-world map. The mash-up app encourages people to gain points by chasing the perky creatures around their own neighborhoods.
The idea, at least as far as McDonald’s is concerned, is that fast food restaurants will receive more Pokemon fan related foot traffic to their locations.
Pokémon GO’s success has had a huge impact on the global market, where Nintendo is now valued at more than 25% than it was prior to the game’s launch.
Once players reach a certain level, they can enter gyms, join teams and battle for control of landmarks for prestige and rewards.
The government has issued a nine-point warning a day earlier, calling gamers not to play the game while walking, particularly on railway platforms, or while riding a bicycle, and not to enter off-limits areas.

Shares of Nintendo, the company that sponsors the whole series of Pokemon games, jumped as much as 6.85 per cent at the Tokyo Stock Exchange after the news, although shortly after, the rise began to slow down.
