Pokemon Go is finally here in the UK

In this day and age of entertainment, little and less can likely be found which has a similar level of popularity as Game Of Thrones. Pokemon Go brings the Pokemon world to the real world with AR mobile technology.

When you opt to use your Google account as your Pokemon Go sign-in, the iOS version of the Nintendo-backed title automatically gains “full access to your Google account”, meaning “the application can see and modify almost all information in your Google Account”. Yes it’s as simple as that!

On Wednesday, the Tricolore Sports clothing outlet in Montreal’s Bell Centre posted a picture on Twitter of a purple monster beside rows of Canadiens jerseys in its store, with the message, “I wonder what kind of Pokemon are in our store”.

Initially, the company planned to launch Pokemon Go in the United Kingdom on July 6, but because of various problems experienced at the last minute, including server overload, the debut was postponed until today.

The Pokemon craze has returned and this time, it is on the mobile platforms. You look through your phone’s camera to see them superimposed over wherever you happen to be.

The game has been downloaded about 7.5 million times in the US, Franken noted in a press release accompanying the letter. Fans like how it takes gaming into the streets and gets people walking around outside.

We’ve heard a lot about Pokemon Go in the past few days – by one estimate the game has already earned more than $14 million dollars in revenue in just a week! Meanwhile, video game publishers Electronic Arts, Activision Blizzard and Take-Two Interactive have all hit new record highs this week.

Lures cost 100 Pokecoins, which translates to $0.99 in real-world cash. Ingress can be accessed from your desktop in a “Google Maps” type format that allows you to search out the stops, gyms, and even see where the most people are at the moment, which sometimes equates to a rare or popular find.
